Where are you located? We are located in Montezuma, Georgia. If you don't live close that's okay! We are happy to get your puppy to you quickly and safely. We feel 100% comfortable shipping our puppies anywhere in the United States or Canada and even most international destinations! Arranging a flight is really a simple process and is a very safe way for the puppy to travel. They would leave our hands the morning of the flight and be in your hands in a matter of hours. The airlines do a great job taking care of the babies and have a lot of security measures in place to ensure their safety. They travel in a climate and pressured controlled part of the plane. Visit the Shipping/Delivery page for all the details.
What happens to your retired breeding dogs? This is an important question. To so many kennels once a dog is retired it means more than retirement, it means replacing a "useless" dog with a "producer". Our dogs are first and foremost our companions, they won't be treated any differently when they "retire" than how we treat them now.
At what age can the puppy go to it's new home? If you are choosing to have your puppy delivered to you, USDA policy stipulates that puppies cannot be shipped until they are eight (8) weeks of age.
The ears aren't up in the pictures. Will they go up? For the most part their ears will go up and stay up by the time they are done teething, however their are a few exceptions. Some common question are; When will they stand up; Why are they funky looking. Click here to visit our page that tells you all the details about a GSD puppies ears.
Can we choose a different name for the puppy? Yes, the name on the website is for reference purposes only. You are welcome to choose any name you would like for your puppy. In almost all cases the puppy will never hear the name that is on the website.
Should we adopt a male or a female? In some ways, choosing between male and female dogs is a matter of personal preference. However, there are some differences. It is important to evaluate these characteristics and determine which sex would fit in best with your home situation when you choose a puppy. Many people have strong ideas about whether a male or female German Shepherd is better. These ideas are usually wrong, but a few differences do exist. There is no ‘hard’ data that supports one gender over the other with respect to intelligence and trainability. Click here for more information about the difference between males and females.
Are your dogs registered? If so with what registry? Yes, our dogs are registered with the AKC and all of our puppies will come with AKC registration papers. Papers are proof of your new puppies ancestry. This is an important question to ask, BE SPECIFIC. A lot of dog breeders will say "yes they are registered" but they will fail to tell you whom they are registered with, or that the puppies can be registered. Make sure you get a firm answer. It is important to be registered with the AKC as it is one of the most well known and well respected registries in the world. There are a lot of "impostor" registries out there that offer to register dogs even if the dogs lack proof of pure breeding. Be wary of dogs registered with one of these unknown organizations. (No matter how highfalutin the registry's name sounds.) Some breeders will use the excuse that the AKC costs too much money. The real reason people don't register with the AKC is because if you have more than 5 breeding adults you could be subject to inspection. They also make you follow ethical breeding practices and have your males DNA tested to PROVE they are purebred dogs!
Will you spay/neuter my puppy for me? If you wish to have your puppy Spayed or Neutered we can have it done here. If the puppy is less than 12 weeks old the cost is $195. If they are over 12 weeks of age the cost is typically $224, but could be higher based upon age and weight.
Where can you ship and how much does it cost? We can arrange transportation via airline or ground transportation to most areas in North America and some international destinations. Please see the Shipping / Delivery section of the website for detailed information.
What type of payment options do you accept? We accept cash and all major credit cards though PayPal. With PayPal you can pay with a Major Credit card or Bank Account using their secure server. This allows you to adopt a puppy without having to provide me with any of your credit card or bank information. PayPal is one of the most trusted payment processing companies and is how most transactions are completed with eBay and over 100,000 other on-line sites. I do not charge an additional fee to accept PayPal or a credit card.
What things can I look for to protect myself when adopting a puppy on-line? Both PayPal and Next Day Pets offer an "ID Verified" option for members who use their services. They are not affiliated with any one breeder or business. Next Day Pets says; "If you are an honest person and not a scammer, or an individual attempting to sell sick puppies, you should have no problem becoming ID Verified." To become Verified with PayPal one must provide proof that he or she has opened an account at a bank or other financial institution in the United States. Because these institutions are required by law to screen account holders, PayPal's verification process increases security when you pay parties you do not know.
Since I have never adopted a puppy on the Internet, how does the process work? The actual process of adopting a puppy online is very simple. The first step is making sure one of our puppies are right for you. Every family is looking for different personality traits. For example; will they be good with children, other pets, or even specialty traits for obedience or service dog work. Please contact us to discuss any particular trait you would be looking for. If you decide that one of our puppies are right for your family we would start by placing a deposit. This deposit would secure your puppy of choice for your family. After placing the deposit we go to work setting up travel arrangements. We can arrange flights to most major airports. Once the flight is booked the balance of the adoption would be due.
If I am unable to keep the puppy what is your policy? We realize sometimes that circumstances change. You may be forced to move into an area that isn't pet friendly. You or your family may decide that taking care of a puppy really isn't something they want to do after all. Health or allergy may prevent you from giving proper care or attention to your puppy. At any time during your puppies lifetime we will always welcome it back, regardless of the reason or age, no questions asked. We want to make sure all of my puppies stay happy and are well cared for. If you ever have to give up your puppy please contact us before giving it away to a stranger or releasing it to a shelter/adoption facility. If you return the puppy for any reason, it will be on a surrender basis only with no refund or credit.
